El Kourous de Anavyssos era la escultura funeraria del joven Kroisos. Con este tipo de escultura la estatutaria griega comienza a diferenciarse de la egipcia e intenta dotar a las esculturas de unos modelos estéticos propios (naturalidad y realismo). Fue hallado en el cementerio de Anavyssos, en Ática (región situada al sur de Grecia).

Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Saronikos, of which it is a municipal unit. [2] The municipal unit has an area of 14.478 km 2. The rigid stance, with the left leg forward and arms at the side, was derived from Egyptian art. The pose provided a clear, simple formula that was used.
